Introduction
The Korea Institute of Industrial Technology's 3D Printing Manufacturing Process Center utilizes industrial 3D printers to develop and enhance manufacturing process technologies for complex, high-mix, low-volume core components in the shipbuilding and energy sectors. The center aims to strengthen the technological competitiveness of related industries through advanced technical support. It conducts R&D projects in the field of 3D printing, facilitates their practical application in collaboration with local companies, and serves as a regional hub for expanding the 3D printing industry and fostering new industries in the southeastern region of Korea.
The center is equipped with manufacturing process facilities to support companies in the shipbuilding and energy components sectors in the Ulsan region. It provides equipment and application technologies to help these companies utilize 3D printing manufacturing processes. Additionally, the center plays a key role in disseminating and expanding 3D printing technology, enabling potential future demand companies to adopt and apply various 3D printing-related processes.
