The Ministry of National Defense of Korea and the US Armed Forces met to discuss
the importance of introducing and standardizing AM technology in the military
The event, organized by the 3D Fusion Industry Association and ASTM International Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence, aimed to share experiences and ideas on incorporating 3D printing technology in defense.

The Korea-USA Defense 3D Printing Technical Exchange Roundtable confirmed the shared efforts of both nations in utilizing and standardizing 3D printing technology within the military. Discussions included sharing internal regulations for the practical use of 3D printing, which will be implemented following appropriate procedures.
Following the exchange meeting, a seminar was held with presentations on 3D printing applications in defense from both Korean and US perspectives, including simultaneous translation in Korean and English.

- Mr. Daniel Leonheart (USAF PACAF 374 FSS/FSOX Captain and CEO of defense startup YokoWERX Spark Cell) on improving awareness and culture for 3D printing in the military
- Enora Rogers, PE, CRE (CEO of Make It 3D) shared over 10 cases of 3D printing for the US military
- Korean Presenters:
- Representatives from LinkSolution, AM Solution, and Veltz discussed defense 3D printing applications using plastic, metal DED, and metal PBF technologies
- Daejeon Technopark, Defense Agency for Technology and Quality, and KITECH KAMIC explained their policy, technical, and institutional support
KAMIC anticipates significant progress in Korea-US defense 3D printing technology exchanges and encourages continued interest in the developments within the 3D printing industry. 👍
