[Tour the 3D Printing Section in the Exhibition in 1 Minute]
From June 17-19, 2024, a large-scale exhibition featuring drones, 3D printing, and other defense industry-related products and technologies, “Korea Innovative Logistics and Defense Conference & Exhibition 2024” was held at Daejeon DCC. Organized by Daejeon City, Agency for Defense Development, Defense Agency for Technology and Quality the event aims to promote domestic defense technology and facilitate networking between consumers and industry.
This year, 228 institutions/companies from 26 countries participated, including the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology 3D Printing Manufacturing Innovation Center. The center showcased its achievements in 3D printing manufacturing for defense, supported companies, and promoted training programs. Participating companies included AM Solutions, Veltz, Gluck, Link Solutions, Carima, and MAADE, reflecting the growth of the domestic 3D printing ecosystem.
Notably, MAADE, a Hyundai Motor spin-off specializing in aerospace components, participated for the first time and impressed by winning an award at the defense 3D printing competition, highlighting their talent.
Additionally, key figures such as Han Sun-hee from Daejeon, Defense Ministry’s Lee Gap-soo, KITECH’s Lee Sang-mok, Hanbat University’s Oh Yong-jun, 3D Convergence Industry Association’s Park Cheong-won, and Daejeon Techno Park’s Kim Woo-yeon visited the 3D printing section, underscoring the growing recognition of 3D printing’s importance among policymakers.
