3D Printing Emerges as a Core Manufacturing Technology in Advanced Sectors,
Exploring Collaboration with the MoTIE to Enhance the Value of Domestic Manufacturing
On October 31, 2024, Director Jaehong Park of the Battery Electronics Department and Officer Kiho Park from the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy visited the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology’s Siheung 3D Printing Manufacturing Innovation Center (KAMIC). Recently, 3D printing has gained attention as an essential manufacturing technology beyond prototype production, especially in advanced sectors such as aerospace, semiconductors, biotechnology, and battery manufacturing. Director Park expressed significant interest in KAMIC’s role in advancing this technology, which led to his visit. 🎉
During their visit, Director Park and Officer Park attended a presentation on the current applications of 3D printing across domestic and international industries and the various ways KAMIC has supported the adoption of this technology within Korea’s manufacturing sector. Following the presentation, they toured the manufacturing facilities to observe firsthand the practical applications of 3D printing technology in real-world settings.
As 3D printing solidifies its position as a core technology in advanced manufacturing, future collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy promises exciting opportunities to add high value to the domestic manufacturing industry. Stay tuned for KAMIC’s continued innovation in the field! 🚀
